A practical guide to contextual marketing

Understanding Asset Groups

Asset Groups are one of Notificare's most powerful features. Part of our Contextual Marketing features, it gives mobile and web developers the ability to build highly personal content that dynamically displays multiple types of media content. This enable developers to build things like banners, popups, interstitials, homepages or even whole product catalogues.

The ability to provide content that adapts to your users' segmentation, device's characteristics, location or time, is what makes this feature so attractive. In this post, let's dive on how you can take advantage of all these contextual marketing features available for you.

Asset Groups

In its simplest form, an asset group can basically contain one single asset. This is already powerful enough since you can use it to display text, images, videos and audio files or data, in any way you see fit in your mobile app or website.

But in most cases, an asset group will contain multiple assets. This is how you can build more complex UI elements. Allowing you to transform this data into powerful content, that your consumers love and that you can manage at any time, without having to release an update.

Duration

It is also important to highlight that this functionality can be configured to display different asset groups based on a certain date. By creating 2 different asset groups with the same name but different durations, users will automatically see those assets, allowing you to create content up-front and that will always be displayed when it is most appropriate.

And in case your content's duration overlaps, our platform will always display the most recent asset group first.

Criteria

This is where things get really interesting. By using our advanced criteria selection, which you might recognize from other features like our audience selection in messaging campaigns, you can actually display different asset groups to different groups of users. For example, it becomes extremely easy to build a homepage in your app or website that displays different content based on gender, user preferences, purchase behavior or basically any type of user data or segmentation you're already collecting with Notificare.

On top of that, you can also combine it with other things we automatically manage in your apps, things like location or device characteristics are also available. Altogether, this particular functionality will allow you to create the most personalized experience without having to constantly develop new functionality in your mobile app or website.

Priority

Lastly, we would also like to mention that you are always in control of your content. As you create different asset groups, with different durations and advanced criterion, it is very possible that some of these assets will overlap. Based on their characteristics, users might simply be eligible for multiple content at the same time. Because Notificare will always only show one asset group at all times, you can manually control this by using a priority in your asset groups. The one with the highest priority is the one shown.

Let's get contextual!
